I just came back from the beautiful Romania. Mountains were really impressive and i could have stayed there a few days longer. People were really polite and very nice to me. Thanks to my new friends Michail and Dragos for making the trip to the mountain Sinaia possible. Food was also a real bargain and try to seek out those places in which they serve real traditional romanian food. Its definately worth to try. Weather was a bit harsh for plein air painting, snowblizard on the mountains was a bit of suprise :) I managed to get two plein air paintings done and here is a few tourist shots aswell. I also add a few pictures i took on the National Museum of Art of Romania. Definately a place to visit.
We had this super idea to paint with my sisters elder children. I usually have 2 extra easels in my car, but i had taken those out to make extra room. Well no worries i just taped these cardboards on to the piece of wood and we were ready to go. These worked out really good when we sticked them to the snow. I also forgot my extra palette somewhere so we had to share mine.
Here is what Helmi painted.
Here Henri's painting. After he was finished he found what we think is a meteor. :)

First one is painted in the life painting class that i am attending. It was amazing, as always, and i think we all learned a lot. This took about 4 hours to complete. Second one is painted after that and it is also painted in alla prima style.
I came across these interesting news. Check it out.
Katie Swatland is doing these monthly on-line lessons with the master painter Richard Schmid. "unlimited access to high-resolution images of paintings and demonstrations" :D Seems VERY interesting. LEARNING FROM RICHARD SCHMID

Snow is melting very fast here in southern Finland. This might be the last snow painting from this winter. Hopefully i will have time to paint after work during the week :)
Today i had a painting session with my friends at the studio. It was really cool to paint within a group for a change. First we did, like an hour or so, an fast 1-3minute sketches and then we fixed the pose and got serious, sort of speak. We had a lot of fun and I hope everyone learned a lot. I sure did. :D Super thanks to everyone who participated.
