Art In The Open 2011 saturday update

It's been fantastic!

We practically invaded Wexford today and we had this 2 hour speed painting competition.
I got lucky and even got some help from the young artists.

Wexford is such a beautiful location with plenty of painting subjects!

Today we are heading to Kilmore Quay to do some plein air painting. I am really looking forward to meet a lot of artists!

I am off to Ireland

just to see if I need anything else,
because tomorror morning I´ll be off to
Ireland's Festival of Plein Air Painting!! Super cool!

Our third child was on born on last friday.
I just had to paint a portrait of him as soon as we got home.
We could not be happier!

I tought that i get serious for a change and took a bit bigger canvas.
Plan A was to scram as much detail in the foliage as possible. I think I got what I wanted.
Plan B was to paint the blossoming apple tree right next to this place, but I do that tomorrow since this took me the whole day.

Today I just had to paint something, anything, on any surface.

So I demolished the painting I started earlier by just painting on top of that.
Usually I dont re-use canvases, but the paint was still wet and it worked out allright tehnically.

I am also looking foward of tomorrow´s painting trip with Mauri and Arto.

Arto painting.

Here you can see how wonderful day it was
to be out there with the children.
I am on the far right finishing up my painting
with my daughter. She painted the foreground leafs. :)

Me and my family shared a great adventure with Arto´s family.
We went to the beautiful Nuuksio National Park.
Our kids just loved all the playing and climbing possibilities
that the place has to offer. While our beloved wifes grilled the food,
me and Arto did the plein air painting.
By the way, now I have officially painted 500 paintings. Whooe!
