We had super nice calm weather today. Maybe a bit grey, but least it didnt rain anything down on us. Mauri is working intensively on his pastel painting in the background.

I have a solo exhibition coming up in Helsinki, a week from now, so I have been busy to get that sorted out.  I am really looking forward to it.

I was more fun to do a series of these, just to really study the subtle color/value shifts these translucent surfaces have.

Last one of these is a bit more simplified version and I am looking forward to incorporate more of that style to tomorrows pleinair session. :)

I felt that the pleinair painting I painted from this building, yesterday, was a bit too small in size and I wanted a bit more horizontal space to really show this beautiful old building for you.
I also added some details that i did not include in the first version.
There is also a challenge to not to over work a new versio. Thats why i painted the same way that i painted in the landscape. Please check out the previous post for the work n progress shots.
Colors and the values are also identical to the original sketch.

I was painting today with my friend and mentor Mauri. 

What an amazing day, we met many great people and chatted a lot about dogs and also about the beautiful finnish autumn!

Incredible colors out there - no painting can match to that, but we did our best.
