Back in Finland

Its good be back in Finland and today here was a very windy day. It's not good for landscape painter but i trusted my easy-L easel and piled a couple of big heavy rocks for extra support.
Clouds were passing by super fast and I waited until I saw these wonderful cumulus clouds.

There was a long queue outside of the Greenacres Gallery. I think everyone from Wexford town entered the show!

Finally it's was time to enjoy all the great paintings that had been painted only in these few days. It doesnt get more contemporary then this!
Greenacres was fully packed with beautiful people and paintings.

Art In The Open 2011 Sunday update

I painted these old castle ruins in the morning.
Then I went to check out plein air demonstration by David Diaz.
Here is some work in progress photos.

It actually turned out to be sunny and warm day, right after the demo. :)

Art In The Open 2011 saturday update

It's been fantastic!

We practically invaded Wexford today and we had this 2 hour speed painting competition.
I got lucky and even got some help from the young artists.

Wexford is such a beautiful location with plenty of painting subjects!

Today we are heading to Kilmore Quay to do some plein air painting. I am really looking forward to meet a lot of artists!

I am off to Ireland

just to see if I need anything else,
because tomorror morning I´ll be off to
Ireland's Festival of Plein Air Painting!! Super cool!

I just had to paint a portrait of him as soon as we got home.
We could not be happier!

I tought that i get serious for a change and took a bit bigger canvas.
Plan A was to scram as much detail in the foliage as possible. I think I got what I wanted.
Plan B was to paint the blossoming apple tree right next to this place, but I do that tomorrow since this took me the whole day.
