Happy New Year! I was on my christmas vacation and managed to paint 6 new pieces. Here is one of them. It was nice that there were a lot of snow in northern parts of the Finland. I post more pictures later on. Now i gotta go to paint some more! :)
Hello Antti, Looks like you had very productive holidays.
I like all of these, especially the last three. The very last one is my favorite. Nice white on white study. (the enlargement is good, some enlarged details would be nice)
Antii in a resent communication you said,"I use same kind of approach to plein air also." This statement was in reference to your use of the Langnickel 5590 series brushes in your painting approach to the head/figure . I assume that you used this brush to paint these and was wondering if they were used exclusively or were other type brushes or knifes also used?
Like you allready guessed, I used solely langnickle 5590 brushes and some palette knife on these ones. One difference is that on the portraits i usually wash some kind of undertone for the skin, but on the other subjects, I find it easier to make simpler strokes, one blob at a time. This all will be better explained in my upcoming "Unicorn" doll painting video.. I still have some sound editing to do with it. Cheers!
Antti, I love the last piece especially, it is something I see quite often up in Northern Canada during the winter. The way your darks intertwine through the painting is brilliant.
Suomesta siis löytyy joku joka osaa maalata oikeaa taidetta! Upeita töitä! Saanko kysyä mistä olet hommannut Langnickeleitä? Myydäänkö Suomessa jossain vai oletko tilannut ulkomailta?
